The monthly bill

Four kinds of monthly cost, with the prices on the vendor's own site.

"How much does a contractor website cost per month?" mixes four purchases. A DIY builder is a platform fee. A field-service add-on is a website subscription on top of software you already pay for. A managed system is a few hundred dollars for the site plus follow-up. An agency retainer is the site plus ads, SEO, or both, and the ad budget is usually extra. The table uses prices read on October 23, 2026, except Hook Agency, whose pricing page was rechecked on October 26, 2026. A vendor that does not publish a monthly price is not in it. The website line is one part of a larger marketing budget. How much of revenue to spend in a month is how much a contractor should spend on marketing per month. To run your own revenue and close rate, use the contractor marketing budget calculator.

Checked October 23, 2026 on each linked page, except Hook Agency, which was rechecked October 26, 2026. Contractor Systems figures come from this site's pricing data, not from a competitor's description of us. Companies that publish no monthly price are left out. The comparison page still notes that pattern for vendors it lists as quote only.

What each kind of bill is actually buying

DIY builder. Wix and Squarespace charge for the platform. The Wix figures above are the yearly prices, paid in full, in the USD amounts that page displays. Squarespace's page shows a higher month-to-month figure and a lower annual figure on each plan. You design the pages, or you hire someone to design them. That designer's fee is not in the platform price. A site that only needs to make calling easy is a different job from a site plus a lead inbox. What the site itself should do is what a contractor's website should actually do.

Software add-on. Housecall Pro's website FAQ states $99 a month for the 5-page package, $149 a month for up to 15 pages, and a $99 setup fee for both. The same FAQ says the build is usually 4 to 6 weeks and that off-page SEO is not included. The website is an add-on. This page does not repeat a Housecall Pro software price, because that number was not re-read on the software pricing page on October 23.

Managed monthly system. Footbridge Media states $249 a month, month to month, with a 90-day money-back guarantee, and the page does not list a separate setup fee. Grit Systems states $295 a month, no setup fee, and says usage is a fair-use allowance. SystemsPal states $297 a month and says calls, texts, and the number typically add $5 to $10 a month. Contractor Systems Advanced is $297 a month for the website plus the lead inbox, missed-call text-back, follow-up, and review requests. $297 one-time setup. Quarterly billing is $891 billed quarterly · Setup fee waived. Annual billing is Billed $3,267 once a year · 1 month free · Setup fee waived. Pro is $597 a month when the phone should be answered. Other companies that advertise $297 a month for a done-for-you system are on $297 a month done-for-you systems.

Agency retainer. Hook's website is a project: $12,000 or $24,000, each split across 12 months on the pricing page, with complex sites up to $50,000. On October 26, 2026 that page listed local SEO and AEO together at $3,750 a month, Google Ads and Local Services Ads from $2,000 a month, and Meta ads from $3,000 a month. Ad spend is extra. The page says your card is connected to the spend. Ideal Media Pro will sell the site once, at $997 for up to 10 pages, or sell a monthly lead-gen system at $1,997 to set up and $797 a month, which includes Google Ads management. Rizen's Foundation plan is $3,400 a month and includes paid ads and a website. That is not the same line as Rizen's standalone website at $1,750 a month for 12 months, or the one-time website that starts at $5,000. Master, at $897 a month, is the Contractor Systems plan that adds Google Ads management. You still pay Google for the clicks.

What you keep is a different question from what you pay

A low monthly price can be a subscription you leave behind, a site you can take, or a project you already paid off. The vendor's own cancellation answer is the one to use.

Footbridge Media's FAQ answers "Does Footbridge Media own my website if I cancel?" with no, and says they will help you take the site with you. Ideal Media Pro says you own the $997 site and that there is no monthly platform fee on that package. Hook Agency's pricing FAQ says you own your website 100%.

Grit Systems says a cancellation before the next renewal stops the next bill. You keep the domain, photos, logo, and customer data, which they export on request. The Grit templates, platform access, automations, and the number they provided stop. SystemsPal's FAQ says the features and systems they built stop when the membership ends.

No contracts on monthly or quarterly plans. Annual plans are paid up front for the year. The pricing page says there is a 30-day money-back guarantee and a full refund if it is not for you. The demo page says the 30 days start the day texting goes live, and that the refund is the first month. We own the software that runs the site, the inbox, and the follow-up. This page does not say the source code transfers if you cancel. If owning the code is the requirement, Ideal's one-time site and Hook's build say that in their own words. Those are website purchases. They are not the lead inbox.

Which of those purchases fits is best website company for contractors. A website with no follow-up behind it is Contractor Systems vs. a website-only build.

How much does a contractor website cost per month?

On pages checked October 23, 2026, a DIY builder is about $18 to $40 a month on a yearly Wix plan (Light $17.77, Core $29.77, Business $39.77), or $159.77 for Wix Business Elite, also shown as a yearly price. Squarespace Basic is $25 a month or $19 a month billed annually. A managed contractor website is often $249 to $297 a month before add-ons: Footbridge Media $249, Grit Systems $295, SystemsPal $297 plus about $5 to $10 for calls and texts, and Contractor Systems Advanced $297. Housecall Pro's website is $99 or $149 a month plus a $99 setup fee. Agency plans that include ads start higher. Rizen's Foundation plan is $3,400 a month. Hook's website is a project of $12,000 or $24,000 paid over 12 months, and local SEO plus AEO is $3,750 a month on the pricing page rechecked October 26, 2026.

What is included in that monthly price?

A DIY subscription includes the builder and hosting. You write the pages. A Housecall Pro website subscription includes the site they build, and it assumes you already use Housecall Pro. A managed system at $249 to $297 usually includes the site plus some combination of a phone number, lead follow-up, and review requests. Read the vendor's list. Grit publishes add-on prices as 'not published.' SystemsPal says calls and texts are extra. Contractor Systems Advanced includes the website, lead inbox, missed-call text-back, follow-up, and review requests. Pro, at $597 a month, adds an AI receptionist. An agency retainer such as Rizen's $3,400 plan includes ads management and a website, and you still pay Google or Meta for the ads.

Do I own the website if I cancel?

Only where the vendor says so. Footbridge Media's FAQ says they will help you take the site with you. Ideal Media Pro says you own the $997 site. Hook Agency's pricing FAQ says you own the website 100%. Grit Systems says you keep the domain, photos, logo, and an export of customer data, and that their templates, platform, and number stop. SystemsPal says the features they manage stop when the membership ends. Contractor Systems is month to month on monthly and quarterly plans, and we own the software. This page does not say you receive the source code if you cancel. Wix, Squarespace, and Housecall Pro's website page do not make an ownership claim this page will repeat.

Is a $25 a month builder the same purchase as a $297 system?

No. The $17 to $40 Wix and Squarespace figures are platform subscriptions for a site you build. The $249 to $297 figures are managed offers that also include follow-up, a number, or review requests, depending on the vendor. Housecall Pro's $99 or $149 website is an add-on to field-service software. Rizen's $3,400 plan is an agency retainer that includes ads. Compare the line items, not just the monthly number. The company-by-company fit, including who should not pick Contractor Systems, is on the best website company comparison.

What does Contractor Systems charge on top of the monthly price?

Monthly billing adds a one-time setup fee equal to the first month: $297 on Advanced, $597 on Pro, and $897 on Master. Quarterly and annual billing waive that fee. Annual is paid up front and includes one month free. No contracts on monthly or quarterly plans. The pricing page says there is a 30-day money-back guarantee and a full refund if it is not for you. The demo page says that clock starts the day texting goes live and that the refund is the first month. Master manages Google Ads, and the ad spend is paid to Google.
